Cefotaxime Sodium is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria which include; infections of the respiratory tract (such as bronchitis); infections of the ears, throat, tonsils; and reproductive tract infections or urinary system infections (such as UTI). It may also be used to prevent infection from certain surgeries. It belongs to a class of medications called cephalosporin antibiotics.
