Coartem is a combination medicine of Artemisinin/Lumefantrine, used to treat non-severe malariacaused by Plasmodium falciparum, when certain other antimalarial medications like chloroquine become ineffective. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a severe or complicated malaria. Also, it should not be used for malaria prevention.
